The Contrast

This piece follows the story of an intimate relationship that begins with passion and hope. As the work unfolds, the relationship slowly loses its meaning and turns into an exhausting chain of identical days. It is a familiar story, one we hear in many forms every day. But what happens when we follow the scripts society gives us, such as marriage, domestic roles, and the expectation of a settled life, without questioning them? How often do we accept these norms as given, and only feel their weight once we are already living inside them? And is it possible to enter such institutions consciously, rather than by default? This piece, as the Hediyeh's first choreographic experience, was a fusion of theatrical expressions and movements, which successfully gained the “best actress award” from the Point Festival’s jury.
